2016- Year in Review

defining-momentsAnother year is coming to a close, yet there is always more that the Lord has for us even in the last moments of a year. As I recount His goodness in my life from this past year, I know there will be more and more to write about that happens even in the next few weeks!

I’ve learned to heed to the voice of Jesus in my life and when He breathes life on something, to stop and pay attention. As my old friend Kevin from Cleveland would say, “When you feel His grace, stay there, flow there.” Well, this is where I’m at. It’s 10:00p. I’m settled in my peaceful apartment with my live Christmas tree sparkling in the background and with the sound of “It is Well” playing. This is one of my anthems for this past year which I will go into more detail in one of these upcoming blogs.

“Through it all, my eyes are on You. Through it all, it is well. Let go my soul and trust in Him. The waves and wind still know His name.”

As I grow older, my heart is more and more sensitive in a good way. The sweetness of a child, the words of a friend, the kindness of a stranger, it really doesn’t matter. Even Hallmark movies get me every time! Haha. I am just thinking about this past year and I feel the pleasure and delight of Jesus burning in my heart and again my eyes are full of tears. He is SO good! I want everyone to know Jesus. To REALLY know Him. To know that they were born to simply be loved by Him and give that love back to Him and to the world around them. When you realize how good He is, how present He is, just how real He is, every challenge and crisis becomes an opportunity to come a little closer still to His heart.

At the beginning of the year, I felt the theme for 2016 for my life was going to be “Defining Moments.” Little did I know what was in store for me. So, stayed tuned over these final weeks of 2016 as I journey through reminiscing in the goodness of God…

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” ~Henry David Thoreau
